Full disclosure: I LOVE fonts. Honestly, I could spend A LOT of time choosing the perfect font for a project. I love the way that a font can change the entire feel or mood of a graphic or document. Sometimes though, I struggle with pairing specific fonts together to make one cohesive design.
Fontjoy is a Google experiment that, while using a complex algorithm, will pair fonts together FOR YOU to ensure that your document looks professional and pleasing to the eye! It's FREE and it's EASY!
The best part? You can CHOOSE your favorite font and the site will show you other fonts that pair best with it!
2. Adjust the circle at the top of the screen to select the level of contrast you'd like between the fonts in your title, header, and text. Slide to left for more contrast and to the right for similar fonts - the middle will be a balanced contrast. Then, click Generate.
3. If you don't like the generated font combination, click Generate again until you find a better option. Like one of the fonts, but not the others in a list? Click the lock icon next to a font to lock it in - then, press generate again to find other font combinations with that font!
HAVE A SPECIFIC FONT IN MIND? If you have a specific title, header, or text font in mind, click the three line icon underneath the font name. Choose the font you want to use and then hit the X. Be sure to lock in the font and then continue to Generate until you find a combination you like!
BONUS TIP!
Share this site with your students, too! It is our job to teach, not just HOW to make a document, but also how to make it professional and pleasing to eye! This site is a great way to help with that!
